Twelve reasons to visit Japan
Luxury Japan October 2009
This tour includes the best of everything Japan has to offer. It is designed for newcomers to Japan who want first class hotels and follows a leisurely pace starting with 4 nights in Kyoto.
We have a special treat at the start of the tour, when we witness two of Japan's most famous festivals. The first, Jidai Matsuri, is a costume procession though the streets from the Imperial Palace to Heian Shrine, celebrating Kyoto's history as the ancient capital in the Meiji and Heian periods.
The second, Kurama Fire Festival, is in a mountain village 30 minutes north of Kyoto. Long rows of torches are lit on both sides of the street leading to the Yuki Shrine and the local teenage boys run up and down brandishing flaming torches yelling “Sairei, Sairyo” (which means merry festival).
All the details in the schedule and hotel accommodation with be reconfirmed 60 days before departure.
